Terri L Horton, DVM
Dr. Horton decided to become a veterinarian at the tender age of 9. She graduated from University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990 and practiced in Virginia for many years before moving to North Carolina Dr. Horton & Jeff opened AngelCare in January 2009. Their hospital has grown beyond their wildest dreams, & AngelCare currently serves over 3000 clients and their beloved pets. . Dr. Horton lives in Statesville with her husband Jeff Smith, several cats, several dogs, and a pig as of this writing. She & Jeff like to travel together, sail, & spend time with Jeff’s daughter, Mikayla. Dr. Horton loves her patients. She sees a pure sweet spirit in every single pet she encounters.
Karen is originally from West Virginia. She holds a BS in Elementary Education and attended Wilson College’s veterinary technician program. Karen treats her patients with compassion & empathy. She & her husband Rich have 3 daughters-Keara, Zaylie, & Alyssa. They share their home with 1 horse, 4 ponies, 2 dogs, 1 cat, a Quaker parrot, a guinea pig, & 3 chickens. Karen is an avid reader and horseback rider. She attends Stony Point Baptist Church and participates in Kicks for Christ Tae Kwon Do.
Veterinary Technician & Receptionist
Erin Ransco Riddile
Erin is from upstate New York and New Hampshire. She has an educational background in Natural Resources Conservation from Finger Lakes Community College and has studied with the Penn Foster veterinary technician program. Erin has happily adjusted to living in the south and is a proud supporter of downtown Statesville. She can be seen playing trivia or watching ice hockey at the Canine Lounge, tasting craft beer at Wine Maestro, and bicycling around town with her boyfriend Lance. Erin has 4 four-legged children whom she rescued-Keena, Sidney, Crosby, & Poopy. She operates her own pet sitting service-“Wet Noses & Waggly Tails”. Erin treats AngelCare’s patients as if they were her own pets. She is also our pet dietary specialist.
Katie pays particular attention to the needs & personal preferences of our boarding & hospitalized patients. Katie is a Certified Nurse Assistant & a college student who hopes to become a physical therapist. She volunteers at Rising Hope Farm as a therapeutic riding assistant. Katie lives with her family & her cats, 2 dogs, & 4 horses. When she has spare time, Katie likes trail & rodeo riding and playing her guitar.
Dianna is a talented & skilled veterinary technician who has worked in the veterinary field for 16 years. She has rescued many animals during her career and currently lives with 3 dogs and 5 cats. Dianna enjoys spending time with her extended family and her church family. She loves outdoor activities such as fishing, playing in the creek with her dogs, and spending time at the Outer Banks with her family. Dianna is passionate about making sure our patients and their owners receive the absolute best veterinary care available.
